Google has launched the Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 on 20th July, 2020. This is the revival of a previously underwhelming first edition which was launched in 2015. The first edition was developed by Google X, which is based on the philosophy of failing fast.
Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 (GGEE2) is a new stylish and evolved version of the first edition. Trying to bring Tony Stark to life GGEE2 uses enhanced XR1 chip improving its battery life, and also an improved processor for better, faster, and focussed information capture and transfer. The price has been bumped to 999$, and is claimed to be "cost effective" and provide "value for money".
However, as the reliance on technology begins to increase the idea of drawing the line and limiting the depedence on it becomes a larger question. Eveolution is one thing, however, the cost of it also to be anlaysed. GGEE2 alongside other Google X projects has focused on bringing our favourtie Sci-Fis to life, and making us realsie the potential of AI and its implications on the world as of now, but the future of these technology is seldom discussed.
