Elon musk recently unveiled the latest product his firm has been working on and it is a game changer.

We all knew Elon as two things, that guy who hosted Meme Review and the guy who made the Cybertruck and runs Tesla. Well, he is much more than that, Musk runs a secretive company called Neuralink. Yes, it is a company. Neuarlink is not the name of those three threads that we were seeing across all media it is a company in itself which is the closest in making most sci-fi dreams come true.
Neuralink unveiled this new piece of neurotechnology and here is why it might just be the most radical thing we have seen ever since Jobs showed us how he can put 1000 songs in his pocket. Now, what was is it?
Musk has revealed advanced flexible threads and a microchip. Those threads are thinner than your hair, and you could place about 20 of those chips on your index finger's tip. They are a super small and a fine piece of machinery that has some potential in not just changing biological studies and surgeries but also the future of the whole planet.
These threads can be used to transfer data. Yup. According to a paper it can transfer about 3,900 electrodes per array. Now I know that doesn't decipher anything, what essentially the idea is that these wires can let us communicate to our machines and probably extract our brain's data and transfer it.
This is tech is a method by which Musk wants to combine the human brain with AI. This would revolutionize the idea of communicating with Siri, Alexa, etc. this will be a new frontier where we won't have to speak and essentially just think.
Now, this new tech will communicate with robots and essentially surgical robots which the firm is developing. These robots will be able to communicate with the brain and be assigned tasks, thus minimizing human error. But like how? That is because of the chip. The wires will pick up impulses from the brain's neurons and then the chip will decode them and by clearing out all the junk send the required signals to the machinery to be communicated with.
This will be controlled externally by an iPhone device where you would pair your brain with another machine and will have an extending apparatus stuck behind your ear which will be the battery for this sophisticated equipment. Right now the tech is not complete that is why Musk's unveiling was not for showing off, but for recruiting members to work on this project and change the world of our future.
This is not coming out of the blue. It has been in place since 2006 when paralyzed subjects would have brain implants and under lab, conditions move robotic arms. However, due to design problems, stiff threads, and damaging chips, the ideas could not be opened to the commercial world and were soon sealed off or limited to research.

As much this idea excites me, I am not certain of the safety, security, and reliability of it. If people have machinery inside their brain, they are not just giving out the normal "location" or personal details you are giving access to the thing which runs your body. This has information personal, so personal that even the person carrying them does not know about them.
There are a lot of things which are to be considered on the ethical aspect of things and the safety side of the world. As new technology will come and then after a point, it will become normal for everyone to have them, now will this just turn into another thing which mechanizes our life and makes us slaves. Or is this our path into a brighter future remains unknown.
However, what is certain is that Musk is not going to stop and in the end, it will boil down to the corporates and how they wish to use the technology. All we can do is hope that this marvel is used for something good rather than the general trend of the use of overpowered machinery.
