Paytm, yes that company which has started charging you money for using your money :) is now at the forefront of the nation's LPG Cylinder Booking industry.

This is no little than Darth Vader telling Luke that he is his father. This is a twist which came out as a Black Swan event, and now is the headline. Indane, HP, and Bharat Gas which have been set in the industry for decades are just overthrown in a quick swoop and Paytm takes the lead.
LPG Cylinders, even though are not as popular in the Metropolitans anymore where gas lines are the general way to go, have been one of the highest demanded good within the mass of India. Paytm saw this large opportunity which normally goes below the radar for most and launched a "Book a Cylinder" feature last year.
They initially had partnered their booking with the supplies provided by HP, now they have also attracted and to a degree silenced the traditional Indane and Bharat Gas.

Paytm has for a long been involved in the growing economy's UPI. As the firm is coming under pressure from the rising competition and pushing down UPI laws, covered in previous articles, it has begun to slowly diversify. The UPI wallet has been providing various tie-ups with Airtel and Vi giving the users of Paytm options to pay phone bills from their app.
Adding electrical, cable, and water bill filling options as well Paytm has been growing and expanding its control. Today, with the increasing use of UPI in India due to the problems in physically visiting the banks and also the various pushes Modi government have made in adopting technology in India has allowed Paytm like firms to be more common than we would normally imagine.
People are now able to do much more just from their phones and the roster of possibilities just seem to be larger. There is growth and modernisation which is explicitly seen. However, one aspect that should be remembered is that Paytm has now stopped behaving like a normal UPI provider. No, I am not talking about the various services they are providing, Paytm has started to charge people money for transferring funds, making payments or even adding money to their wallets.
It has begun to take commission for the most basic money transfer which in the physical world happens intermediary free. The debate on this topic gets more fire as seasoned users of Paytm have begun showing resent and reducing use, the future of the firm can move away from just a UPI and move to a much larger name in the Indian marketplace.
