According to reports, there are 72 data servers run by Alibaba in India which are sending the data back to China. The Chinese authorities have data servers that provide temporary trial periods to companies at low bids or for free to trap them.

Alibaba was part of this and took up the free trial period, therefore, their servers were then in the trial period to send the data back to China through their surveys. These servers after the initial period offer much cheaper prices than compared to the more popular European data servers used in India.

Due to the increased border tensions, these servers allow the Chinese authorities to start a passive cyber war against India. The Indian government is going to launch a massive probe in order to investigate this. This is considered and classified as a method of hybrid warfare against India in which China is starting to engage.

We may see further bans or problems which are coming up with international relations with the country. Only time will tell how the world of online shopping and international company's policies and regulations will change.
